FAQ. - general questions we get asked a lot
If you have a question you'd like to ask feel free to contact us. We will happily answer them for you. |
Can I home board my dog for just one night?
The answer is yes! One night, one week or longer if we are available we will assist. |
Do you home board cats in your own home?No we don't. We feel this would upset your cat even more. We offer pet visits, where we come to your home and spend time with your cat/s in their own safe environment.
What times do you operate? |
|
With the exception of home boarding for general enquiries you can contact us between 8am - 8pm Monday - Saturday. If we do not answer please leave a message, email, text or leave a note on our Facebook page.
Do you let dog's off the lead?
We only let dog's off the lead if permission is given by the owner. When this is given we will and only when we feel the dog's are in a safe environment. We will not let your dog's off a lead if the area is a park full of families, a lot of un-fimular dogs or other distractions. Your animals safety as well as the safety of others is paramount. |

How many dogs do you walk at one time?
From an insurance perspective we are only aloud to walk a maxim of 4 dogs at any given one time. This again is assessed dependant on the ability of the Keep Wagging walker at the time. e. |
Are you insured?
Yes we are through NARP (National Assoication of Registered Pet sitters). This covers us for personal liability and much more. If you would like to know more about NARP go to our links page and click on the link. NARP are more than happy for you to contact them and ask about their process, as well as the businesses they insure. |
Do you take non neutered dogs into your home?If the dog is under 12 months of age and after we have had your puppy assessed in our home then we will take him in. If he is over 12 months of age, sadly we do not. We have found issues with a non neutered male entering a new home where there is another dog. Bitches are aloud at any age, however we will not accept them if they are in season.
I want to socialise my dog Is daycare the answer? |
|
In my honest view there is both a yes and a no answer to this. Socialising a dog is a great way for the dog to learn so much from older dogs, as well as gain knowledge for boundaries, limitations etc.. Daycare can provide a service of assistance to this. It can assist esp if you work long hours and the dog will be left on their own for long period's, which may cause the dog great distress as well as the neighbours Day care isn't always the answer. If your dog is all ready showing signs of being unbalanced. Being unbalanced maybe signs of nervousness, aggression etc.. around dogs. I always strongly recommend that all dog's get some form of good citizenship puppy / dog training from a professional. If I feel that a dog is not suitable for day care or home boarding at Keep Wagging. I will pass on detail's for a local dog behavourlist, who can assist your dog on a one to one much deeper level. My priority has always been for the benefit and well being of any animal that is in my care. |

How Does Your Assessment Process Work?
We invite you to our home with your dog. Firstly we want to meet you in person and also most importantly for you to meet us, see our home, how we operate, so you can then decide if home boarding is the right thing for your dog. From there we will see how your dog is in the new environment. We will introduce our dog and see how they get on. Our home has dog gates, which we use for safety of your dog as well as ours. Once we are happy with the assessment process, then we can proceed to discussing the service you require. |
What age do you take in puppies to day care and Home Boarding?Sadly due to new licensing laws, which are being rolled out in the St Helens area we can no longer have puppies who are fully vaccinated and under the age of six months.
What do we need to provide when we bring our dog/s home boarding? |
|
The most important thing you will need to bring along with your dog is their food and bedding. To prevent your dogs tum from being upset, while staying with us it is always best they stay on the same diet. Your dogs vaccination card must also be brought and kept with us, while your dog stays.
